Philosophy Statement

  • Due to the current obesity epidemic in the United States, it is very important that Physical Education provides students with a positive learning environment and overall outlook upon being physically active.  It is very important to me to teach students about various ways to be active and have a lot of fun while doing so.

Lesson Plans
  • Attached above are a couple examples of lesson plans that I would use with my students.  The first is a lesson plan relevant to movement concepts during the primary grade levels, then the second lesson plan is relevant to students in the secondary grade levels.

Assessment
  • Attached is a statement in regard to my beliefs about assessment in Physical Education.  Assessment will be based upon each of the three domains in Physical Education: Psychomotor, Cognitive and Affective.  Examples of specific assessment methods will also be included in regard to relevance with each of the domains of PE.

Technology in PE

  • In a changing world around us, it is important that I stay current as a Physical Education teacher in regard to technology.  Incorporating a variety of ways to use technology within the curriculum will only make PE a more fun and beneficial experience for students in the years to come.  The goal is to help create a positive outlook upon physical activity with the students.  I believe the increased incorporation of technology is an effective way to do just that.
